The APKF Public School is an educational venture of the Akaal Purkh Ki Fauj under its SAHEB Vision 2020 Initiative. It is a Sikh school located in the Tarn Taran District of Punjab, in an area that has been designated as amongst the areas with lower literacy rates and higher poverty rates in Punjab.
The demography of the area in which the school is located is such that the families are unable to afford quality education for their children; an education that would be able to take the families out of the poverty cycle that they are trapped in. The scenario for the girl child is almost bleak. This situation has encouraged missionaries from other faiths to move in with sops and educational opportunities for families and children in the area. Conversion out of Sikhi to these other faiths is an issue of concern.
The Akaal Purkh Ki Fauj felt the need to be proactive in the area. The APKF Public School emerged as a bastion to overcome these challenges.
